A proposal to convert two unloved buildings on the Waterfront in Ipswich. The single storey brick building is to be used as a 'Creation Space' for Gecko, an award-winning and internationally acclaimed physical theatre company. The concrete framed building is proposed as mixed use with a café at ground floor, coworking space at first and second floors and residential above. The two buildings are connected via a link building - designed as a continuation of the street - creating a space to socialise.
The buildings will be connected and share a common entrance via a link building, a continuation of the street and social space where the various users of the buildings cross paths.
