Ipswich Community Media are a group of like-minded people who work with those at the margins of society to include them in positive change and development of the community. Through music, media, the creative arts and language, ICM engages with the most excluded from society.
EDRM worked closely with ICM to help explore how their premises could enhance their organisation. ICM undertake a diverse range of activities entailing different work practices, each with its own challenges in terms of how they are accommodated. EDRM's task has been to support a review of their existing workplaces and make suggestions as to how the organisation can best accommodate its future evolution. This included consideration of the type of premises that would best house their activities, foster collaboration and offer a positive face to the external world, as well as to communicate the values of ICM. EDRM have hosted many workshops with ICM's community over the last few years and our fruitful collaboration has fostered a sense of ownership and pride in their new premises.
Designing for a local community charity involves a blend of thoughtful design, listening and community engagement to understand the charity's specific needs and budget. EDRM maintain a strong commitment to community-focused projects that have a positive impact on the community
